CAREER CENTER SERVICES

Alabama Joblink (joblink.alabama.gov) - Career Center staff will assist you in creating your FREE Employer Account. We can assist you in your
recruitment process by listing the job, taking applications, screening applications, and setting up interviews for you. With your Employer Account, you can manage your company profile, post your job openings, search for applicants, save searches and resumes, and receive email updates on new resumes ... and it's fast and easy!

Pre-Employment Screening - Career Center staff will screen applications for you to make sure the job seekers meet the job requirements, and then provide you with qualified applications.

Recruitment/Job Fairs - As an Employer, Alabama Joblink allows you to write your own job orders, search resumes by key words, and announce time and place for job fair events. If you wish to advertise your job fair on Alabama Joblink, contact your local Career Center.

Assistance with Closings/ Layoffs - If your company is closing or laying off employees, the Department of Commerce Rapid Response Unit can help. Our Career Center staff will attend Rapid Response meetings to inform your employees of the services offered through the Career Center.

Workplace Soft Skills Workshops - Career Center staff can come to your place of business to provide your employees with Soft Skills Workshops, (e.g. Team Building, Work Ethics, Time Management, etc.)

CAREER CENTER FACILITY RESOURCES

Job Fairs - Career Centers can provide free space for
employers wh0 would like to conduct hiring events.

Office/Conference Room Space - Career Centers offer free office and conference room space for you to interview candidates for job openings and to conduct new employee orientation training. Our Career Center staff can even assist you with setting up appointment times and any other needs you may have. Some Career Centers even have video equipment available for you to conduct video interviews.

Office equipment - Our Career Centers offer copier, fax, telephone, computer, and internet access services to employers.

ADDITIONAL RESOURCES

Federal Bonding Program - Career Center staff offers information on the Federal Bonding Program to provide Fidelity Bonds that guarantee honesty for "at-risk," hard-to-place job seekers. The bonds cover the first six months of employment. There is no cost to the job applicant or the employer.

Labor Market Information - The Labor Market Division will provide employers regional market trends, high wage & high demand occupations, skills gaps, wage data, and more, which can be accessed through the Alabama Career Center.

FUNDING OPPORTUNITIES

On-the-Job Training - The Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) provides funding for the OJT program that is designed to assist you in hiring eligible, entry level employees, and provides wage reimbursement at a minimum of 50% of the participant's wage to compensate you for the costs involved with training and supervision.

Incumbent Worker Training - Our IWT program provides customized training for your employees that may be seeking to prevent job loss caused by obsolete skills or technological changes.

Youth Programs - The Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act offers employers opportunities to utilize WIOA funding for paid Internships for qualified Youth to gain meaningful work experience.

Work Opportunity Tax Credit - The Work Opportunity Tax Credit (WOT() is a Federal tax credit available to employers for hiring individuals from certain target groups who have consistently faced significant barriers to employment.

Registered Apprenticeships - Alabama Career Center staff work with Apprenticeship Alabama in recruitment and funding to develop a qualified candidate and receive a tax credit for qualifying apprentice.
